So I have an idea.
But first, a story:
For the past 25 years, I’ve been doing loops around the US in a tour bus with my band. Every morning I would wake up in a new city and think “What can I get into today?” A museum dedicated to knots? The greatest adult and kid playland of all time? A secret speakeasy in an abandoned water tower? A swimming hole/cave combo, a bonkers sandwich, a Brutalist masterpiece, the best record store in Nashville? Randyland! Sourcing these experiences required digging – some combination of Yelp/Atlas Obscura/TripAdvisor/Thrillist/Eater or finding the right local who understood the parameters: something both Weird and Wonderful.
So here I am, decades later, hoping to build a space that does not yet exist – a definitive and ever-evolving resource for the Weirdest and Wonderfulest places, things and people. In the coming newsletters I’m asking my favorite fellow weirdos to share their suggestions in hopes of sparking a community that is unified by a love of things unique, compelling and beautifully manifested. If you got this far, I have a hunch you may be on team WW…
I’m gonna start here in Vermont where there is an abundance of weirdness. And hopefully this is the beginning of a bigger adventure that we can build together.
Subscribe, share and stay tuned… the world is opening back up, let’s get weird (and wonderful)…
“Love you thank you” - probably not B. Fuller
“Love you thank you” - definitely R. Miller
My body is ready
Sweet!! I am in!
